Results of participation in the “Conference on Employment Opportunities and Labor Market Trends in the Cross-Border Region between Albania and Montenegro”.
The Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA) publishes the information material on the results of participation in the “Conference on Employment Opportunities and Labor Market Trends in the Cross-Border Region between Albania and Montenegro”.
This conference was held in Bar, Montenegro on 24-25 April within the framework of the project “Skills for Sustainable Employment and Inclusive Economic Growth of Cross-Border Region of Albania and Montenegro – Skills for Jobs Albania – Montenegro (IPA II 2014-2020)”. AIDA, as a partner in this project, cooperates with the non-profit organization based in Montenegro, Foundation Business Start-Up Center Bar (coordinator), the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro (partner), as well as the non-profit organization based in the city of Shkodra “Go2Albania” (associate partner).
The main goal of this project will be to promote employment and social inclusion by facilitating entry into the labor market for young people and women in the cross-border areas of Albania and Montenegro.
During the conference, labor market trends, constraints and opportunities presented in Albania and Montenegro were discussed, support programs for young people, women and small and medium-sized enterprises in Montenegro were presented, skills and competencies for future employment and the approach of young people to entrepreneurship were discussed.
The productive discussions that arose during the conference inspired several recommendations that the project partners have included in the published material, along with examples of best practices regarding the competitiveness of the economy, as well as access to quality vocational education.
The activities involved in the implementation of this project will be carried out between Albania (Municipality of Shkodra, Municipality of Vau i Dejës, Municipality of Malesia e Madhe) and Montenegro (Podgorica, Tuz, Budva, Bar, Ulcinj, Danilovgrad and Cetinje).
AIDA will be the focal point of all activities taking place in Albania, from the identification and coordination of participants in training and mentoring, as well as employers and businesses that will be involved in this project.
