The Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA), as a partner of the project “Skills for Sustainable Employment and Inclusive Economic Growth of Cross-Border Region of Albania and Montenegro – Skills for Jobs Albania – Montenegro (IPA II 2014-2020), was part of the opening conference that took place in Bar, Montenegro on 24-25 April.
The parties to this project are the Montenegro-based non-profit organization, Foundation Business Star Centre Bar (coordinator), the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro (partner), the Albanian Investment Development Agency (partner) and the Shkodra-based non-profit organization “Go2 Albania Organization (associate partner).
The main objective of this project will be to promote employment and social inclusion by facilitating the entry into the labour market for young people and women in the cross-border areas of Albania and Montenegro.
The target group includes job seekers with low and medium levels of education, low qualifications and skills that do not match the demand of the labour market, young people (age 15 to 29) and women seeking employment.
The activities involved in the implementation of this project will be carried out between Albania (Shkodra Municipality, Vau i Dejës Municipality, Malesia e Madhe Municipality) and Montenegro (Podgorica, Tuz, Budva, Bar, Ulcinj, Danilovgrad and Cetinje).
AIDA will be the focal point of all activities taking place in Albania, from the identification and coordination of participants in training and mentoring, as well as employers and businesses that will be involved in this project.
During the conference, employment opportunities, constraints, challenges in the labor market, as well as development perspectives in cooperation with all partners and stakeholders in the cross-border areas of Albania and Montenegro were discussed.
